The reasons why we founded TRAINMILE
In Spain, 95% of land freight is currently transported by road and only 5% by rail. On the other hand, France has a share of 11% and Germany is in the lead with 19%. Don’t you think that we have a great potential to grow and should give this efficient, sustainable and safe mode of transport a chance?
With seven million trucks on Europe´s roads, they are involved in 7% of the most serious accidents with casualties. Moreover, Europe will be short of more than two million truck drivers by 2026. Isn’t it time to look for safe and viable alternatives?
In the European Union, the transport sector is responsible for 25% of total greenhouse gas emissions. The transport of one tonne of goods one kilometre by road in a conventional lorry emits 137 grams of CO2, whereas the transport by rail emits only 24 grams of CO2. Shouldn’t we be focusing on responsible transport?
Europe is currently investing billions of euros in improving rail infrastructure. This includes modernising terminals, upgrading track gauges and extending sidings. Isn’t it time to join us on the trains?
